Lavender rarely gets much screen time in fan fiction, and even less of that is positive. To be fair, she very much comes across as a girly-girl or cheerleader type in the books, and it is hard to picture a situation where Harry can relate to that. Still, one should recall that she was sorted into Gryffindor, and that however deeply buried or untapped, there must be a reason for that.

While this story avoids all out Ginny bashing, I do not care for the way it portrays her. I think it neither fair nor entirely accurate. I do think the portrayal of Molly is possible. In either case, I think this is an interesting exploration on the ways that laws in a magical society might work, might have consequences that are disliked but unexcapable, and might be generally complicated.
